The Genealogy Home Page of

Home Site Map

This is the home page for the genealogy research I am doing into my family background. The pages below contain various descendant and ancestor trees within the larger database, as well as GEDCOM and FOWIN5 files of the whole thing. I now have about 2500 people documented.

As for the crest and coat-of-arms above, I have no idea how accurate, if at all, they are, or even whose they are. The infamous Halbert's outfit in Ohio sold this to my folks, and it's probably totally bogus, but it's cool anyway, so what the heck.

The major trees of my family are:

The Schweickert Family, being the descendants of one Caspar Schweickert, born about 1640 in Wiesental, Baden, Germany, a few miles NNE of Karlsruhe. Mary Julia Schweickert was my father's paternal grandmother.

The Weyand Family, being the descendants of one Jacob Weyand, born about 1810, a citizen of Nalbach, Saarland, Germany, NE of Saarbruecken. Peter Henry Weyand was my father's paternal grandfather.

The Peterson Family, being the descendants of one Andrew Peterson, born in 1846, a citizen of Forshipping, Sweden, and an immigrant to the United States. Emma Peterson was my father's maternal grandmother.

The Greiner Family, being the descendants of one Anton Greiner, born in 1716 in Pfoerring, Bavaria, Germany, N of Munich, between Regensburg and Ingolstadt. Joseph Greiner was my father's maternal grandfather.

The Furar and Drasler Families, comprising the various ancestors and descendants of my mother's side of the family. These branches are all from Slovenia, near Ljubljana and Vrhnika, and are much harder to trace, so less is known.

I also have some data about my wife's genealogy, but much less. I have gathered all of this together into a pedigree chart for my son, Peter Teller Weyand.

I have added a page of pointers to family pictures of various people in the family tree. I will add to these pictures as I get time, and as I get pictures to scan. Contributions to my collection are welcome!

I am very interested in finding any additional information to add to these trees, at the bottom, at the top, or by filling in the collateral branches of the ancestors of those who married into this tree. If you have any additional information, or if you find yourself in this tree and just want to say 'Hi' to your distant cousin, please email me.
