Unless otherwise noted, the following are the basics:
Through cunning and resourcefulness, you have finally managed to become appointed to regional govener of a small sector of space. Your job is to hold the terriorty, but the empire is offering no assistance. If you can't handle the job, then maybe you should be reassigned; say 2nd lietenant on a garbage scow? So, you're on the bottom of the political food chain and the only way to every clear out of this backwater sector is to rise above the mundain. If you manage to turn this forgotten splash of space into a wild new expansion, you might just find yourself noticed.
Hey, court jester is still in the court!
The Boarder Wars is a short 2 - 4 player learning-game for newbies, set in a Small to Medium universe.
Players are packed close in a normal universe. This represents the 'Frontier' boarders between two or three empires. The objective is to grab as much terriorty as possible and hold on to it.
Because this is a newbie game, players will be restricted to choosing one of the predefined races of Stars! And, just to spice the magic, I don't think anyone should be allowed to choose the same races. Thereby having a mix of possiblities.
Timeline details will be posted at regular (irregular?) intervules on the CONDITION : RED page of this website. Players are incouraged to be "in-character" and send comments. Spread your propaganda, let the others see your whining or just plain old lie about what's going on. If it's not personally malicious, it'll go up (use common sense, please ;))
Victory conditons are open right now. But they probably will be something standard, using the Stars! preset conditions, however, I am leaning towards something simpler - something like possessing X amount of planets. This would keep in line with the story aspect (yes, that is a preset victory condition, I know). But it's open to the players at this point.
The Last Age is a Stars! game for 4 - 6 players.
In The Last Age, players will find themselves in an old universe. One that has been occupied by an ancient race that may or may not have vanished. Set up will include a 100 year start for the 'ancient' race. It is unknown at the beginning whether this race is alive or dead, hostile or friendly. Players may come across worlds that had been colonized by them, find remnants of their bases, ships, and technology.
As play progresses, players will find clues to the race and how or if they can deal with them. Players are free to do whatever they choose; explore, colonize, attack and/or destroy each other. Alliances are permitted, but only thru in-game contacts, as e-mail addresses will not be posted.
Timeline details will be posted at regular (irregular?) intervules on the CONDITION : RED page of this website. Players are incouraged to be "in-character" and send comments.
Victory conditons are as follows; Player(s) must control the 'ancient' race's homeworld. This could be achived through diplomacy in someway, but that route is considered doubtful. If the player(s) ally themselves with the old power, then they must eleminate all other players. Teams could win this way, but if all players decide to become allies in oder to win, then .... well, don't try it.
Races design is open, with the following restrictions;
