Halliman also played 1B, hitting poorly in 2006 but
batting .403 in 2007. His 2006 ERA is misleading because
he allowed more unearned runs than earned. His main problem seems to
be control. The Pirates drafted him in 2006 also but didn't sign
him as a DFE. Since there was no DFE process starting in
2007, they must have wanted to get one last look at him in summer ball before
deciding whether to sign him. I couldn't find any indication of whether he signed
with a 4-year college. He did not sign with the Pirates.
