Navarro and Luis Penate, whom the
Pirates drafted in back-to-back rounds, were veteran starters
on one of the nation's best HS teams. He certainly put up
good numbers with the bat, but I can't find out much else about
him. He's signed a letter of intent with Samford. The Pirates under Dave Littlefield
seldom signed HS players selected after the first 12 rounds or so,
and they didn't sign Navarro.
