White was an effective two-way player for the Army.  For much of his career he was the team's best hitter while also serving as a rotation stalwart until his pitching hit a snag in his senior year.  The Pirates announced him as an outfielder.  All of his numbers have to be regarded with caution, as the Patriot League is not a top conference.  He signed and should be in the outfield mix at State College.  The Army has a program that allows an athlete to pursue an athletic career while fulfilling his military service by undertaking activities such as recruiting.
