Gardner, whose first name is shown in some sources as Seth,
is a speedy outfielder who looks more like a gap hitter than a power guy even
though the Pirates announced him as a right fielder. He's committed to
Arkansas. Baseball American ranked him as the 80th best prospect in
Texas. As a senior he hit .372 with twelve doubles, four triples and four
HRs. The Arkansas coach has said Gardner plans to honor his commitment.
