The Pirates’ scouts obviously saw something with McKenzie that doesn’t show up in the stats, because he was the worst pitcher on his JC team. Aside from the high ERA, he also gave up a lot of unearned runs compared to the other pitchers, allowing 45 runs total in 50.1 IP.
