Rosero had an outstanding season in his third year in the VSL, making the league's All-Star team and finishing near the top in several hitting categories, but that's a long time to spend at that level. He made the GCL roster in 2007 and had a good year, showing modest power. As was usual with Pirate prospects under Dave Littlefield, though, he was old for the level. He played 2B in the VSL, but outfield, including some CF, in the GCL. He also filled in at the end of 2007 for Lynchburg, where he was overmatched at the plate. He runs well and has good range, with a strong arm. He opened 2008 in State College and was listed on the roster as a secondbaseman, but continued to play in the outfield. In fact, although State College rotated its outfielders through the lineup and moved them around some in the outfield, Rosero played center in almost all of his starts. He continued to show a good arm, racking up eight assists. He had a mediocre season at the plate with very poor plate discipline. He improved somewhat over the course of the season, but his strike zone judgment remained bad. For the season he hit only .122 against LHPs with no extra base hits. Rosero spent much of 2009 injured and made only brief appearances at Lynchburg and State College. He seems to have made the transition very quickly to organizational player. If he's back in 2010, it'll probably be in that role.
