Lorenzo was considered a good prospect with Texas prior to the 2005 season, but the wheels seemingly came off that year.  He was traded to Atlanta for Kevin Gryboski when the Braves needed to clear a roster spot, then released after the season.  He doesn't seem to have been hurt, but he did not appear anywhere prior to the Pirates signing him to fill an injury opening at Altoona.  He relies primarily on command, throwing a fastball ranging from the 80s up to the low 90s, and a curve that produces most of his Ks.
