Rodriguez finally stuck in the GCL after three seasons in the DSL.  He put up solid numbers, although the fact that it took him so long to get there probably isn't a good sign.  He moved up to Williamsport after the GCL season ended.  The following year he pitched in the New York-Penn League season starting, although prior to that he pitched briefly as a fill-in at both Lynchburg and Hickory, pitching very poorly overall.  At State College he served as a swing man.  His ERA was respectable, but his peripheral numbers were poor, as he allowed a lot of baserunners and gave up a HR once every six innings.  In 2008 he opened the season with Hickory and pitched well, but went on the DL in late April and didn't return.  I don't know the nature of the injury.  Rodriguez' track record is very spotty at this point and it's hard to tell much about him, aside from generally low K rates and good control.  Hopefully he'll finally get an extended opportunity in 2009.
