Giblin has a fastball that reaches the low 90s and a big
curve. He had a scholarship offer from Rhode Island University but indicated that he wanted to turn pro, and he did in fact sign quickly. He was expecting to be drafted about where he was and seems to have drawn a lot of interest from scouts, although Baseball America had no information at all on him. Obviously, he got hammered in the GCL. Coming from a northern state, he might have a tougher time getting adjusted to the competition in the GCL. Unfortunately, he missed all of 2008 with an injury. Hopefully, he'll return in 2009.
