The Pirates signed Dorta to a minor league contract for 2008.  He's played all over the infield during his career, mainly 2B in the low minors but more often at SS or 3B in recent seasons.  He's also played a little in the OF.  He actually improved a bit as a hitter after reaching AA.  He was hopeless in the low minors, although he's still not much good.  He runs a lot but obviously isn't a good base stealer.  He'll open 2008 as the starting 3B at Altoona, which isn't likely to work out well considering his weak bat.
