We have several exciting projects going on and need talented individuals to play pivotal roles in these programs. Currently, we have 3 positions open.

Sheet Metal Forming (FEM) Analyst :

In the development of new automobile bodies, sheet metal forming is especially a critical step. As a result of the ever shrinking product development cycles, manufacturers need to rapidly and accurately predict the response of sheet metal during the forming process and design forming dies accordingly. The successful candidate will work on actual automotive components. The goal is not just to perform sheet metal forming analysis but to select and optimize the numerical tools necessary to shorten the development cycle. During this process, the successful candidate will also get feedback from the automotive manufacturing plants to compare the actual forming results with numerical analyses. Troubleshooting manufacturing problems via measurements and numerical analysis will also be required.

Numerical Analysis will include but not be limited to Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This position has the potential of expanding into other automotive manufacturing areas. This position requires extensive interaction with automotive manufacturing engineers. Therefore strong communication skills and an ability to perform independently are essential. 5+ years experience in structural analysis/modeling and strong communications skills required.

CNC Software Developer :

Join the revolution in Computer Numerical Control (CNC)! Proprietary CNC architectures are being abandoned in favor of Open Architectures. PC-based CNCs will soon dominate the manufacturing floor. Sutek aims to be at the forefront of this exciting development. We need an experienced programmer to join this effort. The successful candidate will take responsibility to develop an object-based user-friendly graphical/conversational programming methodology to help machinists with shop floor programming. The candidate will also develop the concepts for converting user created drawings into metal cutting instructions (G-Code). The ease-of-use is critical!

This position requires strong MS Windows and C++ skills. Experience with a development system such as Borland C++ or Visual C++ is necessary. Experience with CAD/CAM software development and machine tools is a definite plus but is not required.

Motion Control Software Developer:

The successful candidate for this position will work in the same team as the "CNC Software Developer" position described above. The goal of this position is to develop a CNC which is as powerful and as robust as the currently popular proprietary controls. The successful candidate will specialize in the programming of the machine tool positioning as well as auxiliary functions logic. The candidate must have extensive experience with PID servo algorithms, motion control, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Familiarity with machine tools is very helpful. Most of the work in this particular position will be platform independent but MS-Windows knowledge would be very helpful. Strong C++ skills and digital control background required.
