What DIAN is:
- an information retrieval system which enables the querying of otherwise non-normalized biological data, e.g. DNA/RNA/protein sequences, as well as other data types.
- an algorithm for annotating and normalizing biological objects using ontologies.
Example UI
- Example of ontological query user interface: Combination of concept + free text search
- Example output: DIAN classifications added to a GenBank record.
