UVC’s:

8/15/96  Subject: UVC Airflow alarm.

If the UVC airflow alarm is programmed as active,  the alarm will occur if the input is open 1 minute after the fan turns on.  Once the airflow is confirmed, it must open for 30 seconds for the airflow alarm to occur.  Once the alarm occurs, it will attempt to call out the alarm immediately.  If choice #49 (force outputs to emergency states) is set for Yes, the outputs will respond.  The airflow alarm needs to be manually reset.

8/15/96  Subject:  Using the FTS-3 or FTS-3A without timed override.

If you do not need to use the timed override function of a UVC or ETC, you can eliminate the wires that go to terminals 5 and 6 of a Futura sensor, but you must put a jumper wire between terminals 5 and 3 at the sensor for proper temperature sensing.

8/15/96  Subject:  Max discharge air temp. reading of a UVC.

The discharge air sensor of a UVC will read up to 144 degrees.  Above that point, it will continue to display 144 degrees.

Specifications/Installation Instructions for the UVC/ETC Supply Air Temperature Sensor (RTS-UVC)

1/23/96

The Novar UVC/ETC Supply Air Temperature Sensor is a precision electronic sensor designed for use with the LOGIC ONE Unit Ventilator Controller (UVC) and Electronic Thermostat Controller (ETC).  The sensor gets mounted in the supply air stream of the controlled heating and/or cooling equipment.  It uses a two wire signal cable to send its temperature signal to the UVC or ETC.

Specifications:

·         Wire Length: 6 feet, with sensing element at the tip of the wire.

·         Sensor tip diameter: 1/4 inch

·         Range: 20 to 144 degrees F.

·         The sensor is permanently calibrated at the factory and cannot be adjusted in the field.

Installation:

The sensing tip and at least 6 inches of the wire leading to the tip are to be mounted in the supply air stream of the controlled equipment.  You may use tie-wraps or other suitable mounting hardware to secure the sensor.  Choose a location where the outside and return air streams are well mixed, to prevent a “stratified” temperature reading.

Wiring:

The RTS-UVC is a two wire device.  Connect the red wire to terminal #5 and the black wire to terminal #4, of the UVC or ETC terminal strip.  The wire length may be extended up to 100 feet if necessary, using a minimum of 22 gauge wire.

9/10/96  Subject: UVC Dirty Filter Alarm.

The dirty filter alarm of a UVC will occur 1 minute after the filter input closes.  It will automatically clear at the next schedule transition from Off to On.  This is to prevent repeated alarms as the fan cycles on and off throughout the day, and should cause the dirty filter alarm to re-occur only once per day (if it schedules on and off once per day).
