Sitting
on the highest throne Full
control of all that’s known Bestows
a world of limitations Mortal
struggle and confrontation Signals
mixed, never learning Forever
trapped with senseless yearning Precious
time consumed in earnest Given
life in constant turbulence Left
alone to ponder sin A
lonely battle fought within Surging
highs and lows in mind Dragged
through relentless marching time Forced
to battle ebbs and tides Living
in an endless lie Laughing
all the time is he Jokes
on us though we can’t see
Chorus: Why, must we mortals
die Never knowing why We even live at
all Try, to learn the
reasons why Given hope we
cry Laughing as we die
(2nd- Freed from living lies)
Acting
as befits our nature Drawing
faith from nomenclature Signs
are few and far between Fallen
as the captured queen Freedom
to decide our fate Once
realized but now too late Laughing
all the time is he Joke’s on us though we can’t see Left
alone to ponder sin A
lonely battle fought within Surging
highs and lows in mind Dragged
through relentless marching time Forced
to battle ebbs and tides Living
in an endless lie Laughing
all the time is he Jokes
on us though we can’t see
Chorus
Seething
mistrust, Crumbles to dust Feeding
desire, Burning in fire Writhing
in pain, Trying in vain Raging
with lust, Turning to dust None
of it matters
Feed
the fire, abstain from misery Deepened
state of utter futility The
fool will hide, deep inside Afraid
of sin, dying within The
hopes and dreams of modern man Are
twisted in the master’s plan
The
highs and lows we’re forced through Paths
through life we choose Balanced
in the sad reality Fallen
prey to mortal fantasy The
hopes and dreams of modern man Are
twisted in the master’s plan
This
life means nothing
You
know that God is laughing
