 League Rules

1. League Matches will consist of 9 holes with the match played on either the front or back nine.  If players can't agree on which nine to play, a coin toss will determine the nine (Heads - front, Tails - back).  Green Pond usually dictates which nine is played.
2. Tee-off will be played no later than 4:45 PM unless mutually agreed upon by both players.
3. Postponement of Match

a) Any player unable to play his match must contact his opponent as soon as possible, but no later than 4:45 PM.  Matches may also be cancelled due to bad weather.  The Green Pond clubhouse phone number is 610-691-9453.

b) Failure to notify your opponent that the match is postponed will result in an automatic forfeit of the match with 12 points awarded to your opponent.

c) Makeup matches can be played at any time during the year.

d) Upon agreement of both players, a scheduled match may be played any time prior to the original scheduled date.  For makeup matches, both players must notify the Rules Committee of the new scheduled date.  This will eliminate confusion or misunderstanding.

e) The first nine (9) holes count as a match.

f) Double matches are allowed at any time.  A double match cannot include future matches.  Both players must be agreeable to the double match before playing.

6. The League will consist of 4 flights with 6 men per flight.

a) Each League member will play one match with every other league member.  Flights will be established before the season begins if there are no new league members.  If there are new league players, then flights will be established after the fourth week of play.  Flights will then remain as established for the rest of the season.

b) At the end of the season, there will be 4 flight winners and two players with the highest point totals that didn't win a flight will qualify for the playoffs.  The flight winners will be seeded 1-4 based on points won.  the 2 wild cards will be seeded 5-6 based on points won.  The first round of the playoffs will have seeds 3-6 and 4-5 playing.  the second round will have seed 1 playing  the highest remaining seed and the 2nd seed playing the other first round winner.  During the playoffs, if a tie occurs, the players will play on until the tie is broken.  The match will resume on the 1st hole played unless course management says otherwise.  In the preliminaries/semifinals, if a flight winner cannot play his match, his opponent will receive a bye.

Each flight winner will have the choice of a trophy or $50 in cash.  In the event of a tie in a flight, the following criteria will be used to determine the winner:  1)Head to head, 2)most points won within the flight and 3) the rules committee will decide.  The League Champion will receive an additional $100 in cash.  In addition, the League Champion will have his name placed on the permanent league plaque at the clubhouse.
