Borthwick Castle
Borthwick Castle was built in 1430 by the first Lord Borthwick.  We spent 3 nights here and this was one of my favorite castles we stayed in.

Damage done by Oliver Cromwell in 1650
In 1567 Mary Queen of Scots and her third husband, the Earl of Bothwell fled from Edinburgh to seek sanctuary at Borthwick Castle.  It was here that they spent their final days of Freedom.
