The electrician finally came this week. I now have working outside lights, overhead lights upstairs, kitchen lights and working smoke detectors. Also, he changed the beige outlets and switches to white. This is the dining room light.

Continuing last week's story with the kitchen floor: turns out they ordered the wrong style. He offered not to charge me if I wanted to keep it, but aside from it being rather bland, it would get dirty in about 15 minutes - my housekeeping skills can't keep up with that. So I told them to fix it, and I'm glad I did because I love this one!

I had them put a patch of the kitchen vinyl in the living room by the front door so I won't trash that part of the carpet in the winter.

Overall it's coming along, but I'm still living in a construction zone.

The bedroom furniture was supposed to be delivered on Friday; however, when I asked them not to deliver the living room pieces, they cancelled the whole order without rebooking the bedroom set. Let's see if they get it right on Tuesday.

Saturday my family went on our annual apple-picking outing with my college friends. My brother is back from his cross-country tour (for now), and my parents have been waiting around my house for various deliveries.
