The plumbing finish-work is done; all of the appliances
except the fridge have found their homes in the kitchen. At first
the kitchen faucet (it's the type with the pull-out hose) had cold
water on the left and hot on the right, but that's fixed now. My dishes
and cookware are still packed, so I can't use any of these things!
The Solatube
was installed in the upstairs bathroom. That's natural light coming
through, it isn't "on." It also has a fan with two speeds.

The rest of the plumbing fixtures are in and usable.
The shower door has not yet come in, so I will shower downstairs for
the rest of the week, which isn't so bad. Note that only a couple
of the drawer pulls are installed - he's had the wrong screws, or
some such, and it's taking days to get this done.

My brother came on Saturday to help me empty out the
two downstairs bedrooms. It didn't take all that long, but we worked
really hard - I'm feeling it today, and he did even heavier lifting.
Now they can paint the office (first picture) and carpet the entire
downstairs. Hasta la vista, you grungy old carpet!

I now officially reside upstairs. It's like I'm living
in an apartment, since there's nothing left downstairs but the kitchen.
The weird thing is, it did not feel weird washing up and going to
bed upstairs. I guess I'm home! The new bed is very cushy and nice
to sleep in.

I discovered the first design flaw with the addition.
When moving clothes from the downstairs closets into the craft room
closet (until my custom closet is installed next week), I realized
the door doesn't shut when there are clothes all the way at the front
end of the pole. Oh well, it won't affect me at all, and shoes or
boxes can be stored there if someone should live in this room.

Go Sox!!
