I did the walk-through with the builder on Monday
and gave them a 4-page punchlist. Plumbing, fire and final building
inspection all passed this week.
The tiling, grouting and plastering are finished in
the downstairs bathroom. There still seem to be a couple of things
to fix. Just one more day, so they say...

The dining room furniture, generously donated by my
Aunt Steph and Uncle Paul, arrived on Thursday.

First snow of the season! Unfortunately, it arrived
the day I planned to move all my stuff into the house from the storage
unit - I was quite annoyed with Mother Nature. So we did what we could
- shoveled a path on the lawn and covered it with carpet remnants
so we wouldn't track in any extra snow or mud.

Thanks to my parents and my friend Julie, we got absolutely
everything moved inside! I really didn't think we would get it all
done in the weekend, but we did it in just a few hours. For the first
time in months, my parents could stay at my house in their very own
bedroom, and I could use a real bowl and spoon for my cereal!
1. Office (formerly sitting room, before that - junk
room); 2. Guest bedroom (formerly my bedroom); 3. Kitchen (formerly
backyard!)

Mom and I got the kitchen pretty much unpacked, so
it is now fully functional - except for the dishwasher (long story).
Everything else goes in the basement. (Hey, gimme a break - what does
your basement look like?)

Of course, no project ever finishes on time, and there
are a few things left to do on Monday. I'm not holding my breath,
but in a perfect world, every single thing will be done and the contractors
out by the end of the day Monday. Of course, in a perfect world, I'd
be a billionaire and pay a fortune for them to do this in a week like
on TV :)
