BEST PUPPY IN MATCH and her first major, handled by co-owner Virginia Boylan

"Mia" joined us in mid September of 1999. She got her first experience on birds at 4 1/2 months and has proven to have great potential. Her first venture in a show ring was on October 9, 1999 at the St. Hubert Fall match where she went Best Puppy in Match!

Since that time Mia has managed to squeeze some show time in between her field commitments and to date has 5 points, including one major, all under the guiding hand of her co-owner, Virginia Boylan.

In the year 2000 Mia has earned a total of 17 High Point Puppy points, making her #2 Puppy for that year! She took first place in the Puppy Stake at both the 9/21 and 9/22 trials held by the English Springer Spaniel Assoc. of Western New York in addition to her 3rd and 1st place wins earlier in the month at the American Spaniel Club and Maine Spaniel Field Trial Club trials, respectively.

In 2002 Mia finished her JH title.

On March 21, 2003 Mia had her second litter, this one by Ch. Raccoon's Oh Boy at Nohea WD, a solid liver. The litter resulted in 3 livers and two blacks.

LASTEST NEWS!!

In Spring of 2004, Mia completed her SHOW CHAMPIONSHIP with Best of Breed wins over Specials. On October 23, 2004 she completed the last leg of her MASTER HUNTER, tying with another champion bitch who completed her own MH at the same event on the same day, making them the first Ch. bitches to earn the MH title!

To date, two of Mia's puppies from her litter by Banner are being shown-----Dinah (Woodwyn's Pepper Imp of Velka), a black, has 9 points and lacks only her majors to finish. Dash (Woodwyn's Balderdash), a liver, has won the Sporting Group at the two matches he has attended and is pointed. He has started his field work in earnest after rejoining us in March at one year of age, and is showing lots of promise.
