Barry Miller was born in Boston in 1953, and graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. He is an artist/musician who has exhibited his instruments and performed his music throughout the New England and New York areas. Playing saxophone, drums, and percussion, he composes and improvizes pieces often inspired by Black Music.

Miller has taught art, music, musical instrument making, and creative dramatics to children in Boston and New York City. He has also presented numerous workshops for music therapists, regarding musical instrument making.
