Mom & Dad's 40^th Anniversary Surprise Party: May 9, 1998

The first photo is of Scott at my place the night before the event, doing some last-minute scheming. (Click on the "thumbnail" photo below in order to see the full-sized version.)

Next are the photos of the event itself, which took place at the Chatham Bars Inn, on Cape Cod (Massachusetts), which I recommend very highly. Incidentally, everyone who was there is represented in at least one of these photos, even without counting the group shot, except for me since I took them; but even I can be seen in the group shot, since Stan took that one.

And finally, we have the informal gathering the day after (which, technically, was the actual anniversary, May 10, as well as Mothers' Day).

Isn't little Gracie (my first cousin, once removed) just adorable? (That's me picking her up in the last photo.) Her little sister Anna is also adorable, but was only present at the anniversary party in utero, so there are no pictures of her.
