He married Zilphia Florence Sansbury in Darlington, South Carolina, December 25, 1895. (Zilphia Florence Sansbury is #935.) Zilphia was born in Darlington, South Carolina November 08, 1878. Zilphia died March 24, 1920 at 41 years of age. Her body was interred in Darlington, South Carolina, High Hill Bap Church Cemetery.

2 i. Thelma Louise² Gardner (#933) was born in Darlington, South Carolina September 19, 1919. She married Clyde Norton Miller in Portsmouth, Virginia, June 16, 1945. (Clyde Norton Miller is #512.) Clyde was born December 02, 1912. Clyde is the son of Napoleon Bonaparte (Nip) Miller Sr and Annie Etta Stinnett. (See Clyde Norton Miller for the continuation of this line.)
