He married Ava Madelyn Crawford in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia, November 04, 1933. (Ava Madelyn Crawford is #1021.) Ava was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia May 09, 1914. Ava is the daughter of James William (Bill) Crawford and Zora Babel Miller.

James (Jimmy) Norton Gleason and Ava Madelyn Crawford had the following children:

+ 3 i. James Norton³ Gleason Jr was born August 31, 1934.

4 ii. Barbara Arleen Gleason (#1031) was born in Richmond, Virginia March 03, 1939. She married Marvin Allie Dillard in Chesterfield, Virginia, April 26, 1964. (Marvin Allie Dillard is #1032.) Marvin was born in Richmond, Virginia April 08, 1938. Marvin is the son of Dorsey Linden Dillard and Goldie Florence Weatherford. (See Marvin Allie Dillard for the continuation of this line.)

+ 5 iii. William Rodney Gleason was born August 06, 1941.

+ 6 iv. Thomas Randall Gleason was born October 26, 1944.
