40. Charles E.⁵ Jennings (Powhatan Perrow⁴, John William³, Benjamin², James¹) (#1511) was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia September 23, 1843.

He married Nancy Jane (Nannie) Johnson December 23, 1873. (Nancy Jane (Nannie) Johnson is #1510.) Nancy was born June 12, 1856. Nancy was the daughter of William M. Johnson and Martha A. Jennings. Nancy died April 25, 1892 at 35 years of age. Her body was interred in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia, Amherst Cemetery.

Charles served in the military March 2, 1861.

Charles E. Jennings and Nancy Jane (Nannie) Johnson had the following children:

113 i. William R.⁶ Jennings (#1639) was born May 18, 1875.

114 ii. Dan M. Jennings (#1640) was born September 15, 1877.

115 iii. Charles A. Jennings (#1641) was born June 27, 1879.

116 iv. Viola Loving Jennings (#1642) was born December 5, 1881. She married ? Raike. (? Raike is #1643.)
