2. Marcellus Dow² Lawhorne (Lucas Thompson¹) (#2001) was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia February 25, 1879. Marcellus died February 4, 1941 in Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia, at 61 years of age. His body was interred in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia.

He married twice. He married Sarah Frances Wilmer. (Sarah Frances Wilmer is #2567.) He married Margaret Clements in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland, December 6, 1923. (Margaret Clements is #2000.) Margaret was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia November 28, 1904. Margaret was the daughter of Charles Wesley Clements and Sarah Alice Clements.

Marcellus Dow Lawhorne and Margaret Clements had the following children:

4 ii. Marcellus Preston Lawhorne (#2559) was born in Amherst County, Virginia December 21, 1926. He married Teresa Evans April 1953. (Teresa Evans is #2620.)

5 iii. V. Regina Lawhorne (#2560) was born in Amherst County, Virginia April 11, 1930. She married James B. Bradley November 19, 1949. (James B. Bradley is #2621.)

6 iv. Flora Maeline Lawhorne (#2566) was born in Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia April 22, 1932.

7 v. Carl Thomas Lawhorne (#2561) was born in Vesuvius, Rockbridge County, Virginia May 4, 1933. He married Shirley Throckmorton August 23, 1952. (Shirley Throckmorton is #2622.)

8 vi. Theodore Wayne Lawhorne (#2562) was born in Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia March 21, 1935. He married twice. He married Estell Halleran 1953. (Estell Halleran is #2623.) He married Ruth Mosley December 1, 1956. (Ruth Mosley is #2624.)

9 vii. Jerry Evans Lawhorne (#2563) was born in Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia March 21, 1935. He married Sylvia Harder June 29, 1953. (Sylvia Harder is #2625.)

10 viii. Barbara Byrne Lawhorne (#2564) was born in Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia April 25, 1939. She married Charles Detrick December 1, 1956. (Charles Detrick is #2626.)

11 ix. Edith Roberta Lawhorne (#2565) was born in Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia Febuary 5, 1941. She married Richard Nash September 2, 1958. (Richard Nash is #2627.)
