Q&A

What Should I Do About Non-Recycled Plastic?

These plastics account for less than 10% of all plastic containers and make up less than 1% ofhousehold waste. Good markets for these materials do not exist at this time. Recycling thismaterial would cost in excess of $3,000 per ton, so it is not economical to do this at this time. Ifbetter markets open up, Madison will look to add this material to the Madisonpride program.
