8/25: Sapient's new Web site went live at the same time as the company acquired Clement Mok's Studio Archetype, a cool Internet/brand design firm! 8/15: Another crazy night out? Orny had the pleasure of poking his head into a party held by his coworkers' Dave & Betsy, and then made the pilgrimage to TT the Bears to see TMBG's John Flansburgh's side project, Mono Puff! 8/13: Night of the living dead! Went to three separate concerts! At 6pm, saw local mainstream alternative favorites Letters to Cleo in a free show on the banks of the Charles at the Hatch Shell. After a brief pizza intermission, at 9pm we headed over to TT the Bears to see a pre-New England Ska Festival Battle of the Bands, including both my favorite local ska bands, Beat Soup and the Brass Monkeys! Then, just before midnight, we snuck next door to the Middle East to see industrial dance pioneers Front 242. It was a helluva night, and that's why I love Boston! 8/8: Spent the weekend up in Maine, visiting my mother and playing golf, as well as catching a production of "The Heiress", a classic play based on Henry James' novel "Washington Square", put on by the Theater at Monmouth. 8/6: Helped my friend Jeanie bring home her new kittens, Ed & Isha! 8/5: Went to a team event at North East Brew Co. 8/4: Went to local Irish bar Tir Na Nog and whiled the night away having an acoustical moment with Mike Barrett. 8/1: DargonZine 11-6 was distributed, featuring continuations of stories begun in DargonZine 11-5 and the long-awaited publication of "Maiden Cloth". |

7/31: More music? Went and saw a great show at TT the Bear's featuring local ska bands Dow Jones & the Industrials, the Allstonians, and newfound favorites, the Brass Monkeys! 7/30: Went and saw They Might Be Giants play a free concert at Boston's Hatch Shell, then turned around and went to Johnny D's to see Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, a swing band fronted by a member of the Squirrel Nut Zippers. 7/29: Attended a cool performance by Cambridge's classical freaks "Composers in Red Sneakers". 7/20: Orny went to Boston's House of Blues to see reggae legend Toots and the Maytals for an awesome night of dancing and stuff! 7/19: Orny made a pilgrimage back to the place of his birth, the fishing port of Gloucester, Mass, hanging out at a local beach and watching the schooners sail by. 7/18: Orny attended the 11th Boston Fetish Flea Market, picking up a great book on polyamory called "The Ethical Slut" from Greenery press. 7/16: Orny's employer, Sapient, announced record second quarter results (which again exceeded Wall Street analysts' expectations). 7/7: Created the OrnothLand Archive. 7/6: Orny went to Boston's Government Center along with 40,000 other people to hear a free performance by the Barenaked Ladies. 7/4: Orny had the pleasure of viewing Boston's Fourth of July fireworks from the usual VIP location: the 8th floor of Sapient's Cambridge office. 7/1: Orny finds himself enjoying a new romantic entanglement and perforce embracing complexity! |
