Treeing Walker
The Treeing Walker was developed from certain strains of English Walker Foxhounds. The credit for the development of the Walker Foxhound goes to two men-George Washington Maupin and John W. Walker. Both men were from Kentucky. Before that time, Thomas Walker of Albemarle County, Virginia, imported hounds from England in 1742. George Washington, who was an avid fox hunter, also imported several hounds from England in 1770. These dogs became the foundation strains of the Virginia Hounds', which were developed into the Walker hound. The Tri-colored, white-black-tan, is the preferred coloration. White may be the predominant color, with black spots and tan trim; or black may be the predominant color with white markings and tan trim, such as saddle back or blanket back. White with tan spots or white with black spots may be accepted

Black and Tan
The Black and Tan Coonhound was developed by crossing the Bloodhound and Foxhound, in the United States on the basis of its colors (black and tan). The breed has also been used very successful to hunt other types of game such as bear, stag, opossum, deer and mountain lion - even on difficult terrain. It withstands well the rigors of winter as well as intense heat. The official recognition of the breed dates from 1945. Some of the Black and Tan Coonhounds talent's include hunting, tracking, watch dogging, and agility.

Bluetick
The Bluetick coonhound's most distinguishable trait is its blue-ish coat. The long pendent coonhound ears and rectangular muzzle make it a handsome coonhound. Bluetick coonhounds have long muscular legs and cat-like feet with arched toes. The Bluetick coonhound has a unique tri-colored coat. In reality the coat is heavily black speckled (or black ticks) on white which gives the coat as blue-ish tint.
