First Everest View

First Everest view

First Everest view: just over an hour's walk from Namche, the summit of Mt. Everest emerges above the massive Lhotse wall.  Ama Dablam (6,814m/22,354m) can be seen on the right and Machermo peak (6,017m/19,740ft) is on the left.  The trail proceeds along the left ridge, then drops down to the valley at Phunki Tenga, and then climbs back up the middle ridge (in front of Ama Dablam) to Tengboche.
