The Wedding
by Zlanna@AOL.com
I just watched the DS9 Worf wedding and couldn't resist...

"To tell you the truth Commander, it nearly turned me off on Bachelor parties all together!" Chief O'Brien was sitting in a small room that adjoined the ten-forward lounge. He peered through the opened door into the gaily decorated lounge filled with tropical flowers that filled the room with their heavy perfume. He gratefully took the ale from Will Riker as he watched the last minute preparations. Riker followed the O'Brien's glance then returned his attention to the Chief.

"Here Miles. Have some more ale, or would you rather have a scotch?" Riker offered holding the bottle temptingly in the air.

O'Brien reached over taking the entire bottle from the First Officer. "Now, you are talking Commander!"

Riker laughed, "Miles, call me Will."

"Thank you, much." Miles answered with a twinkle in his eye, that Riker didn't miss. After all the festivities tonight were largely the result of Miles' steady communications through the years with Riker and O'Brien definitely felt he had played a central role in the decision to hold this evening's event.

Geordi LaForge leaned forward. "A Klingon bachelor party? I can't even imagine it. Tell me Chief, what did you do?"

"Did a girl jump out of a cake?" asked Data innocently.

"Hardly!" Miles answered. "Do? Well first, we all had to stand around a fire in a cave. Worf kept building the fire up hotter and hotter until I thought poor Alexander was going to faint! Actually, Alexander did faint!"

"Alexander? He was at the wedding too?" Will asked, suddenly noting that Deanna would welcome news of Alexander and would be disappointed if he didn't relay any information about the boy that Miles might reveal. "How is he doing?"

"Yes, he was there. He's doing fine. A handsome boy he is too. Not much of a soldier. Not at all like his father." Miles said, taking another swig of the scotch, his face beginning to turn slightly pink as the alcohol took effect. "He almost didn't survive the blood ceremony or the hanging over the fire pits."

"Sounds lovely. Fire pits? Well at least I hope you got to drink lots of bloodwine." Geordi nudged Miles. "Built up quite a thirst I bet, right?"

"Thirst? You had better believe it, but"

Riker interrupted O'Brien, "I'll bet Worf wouldn't let you drink anything!"

"Really, Commander. There is no need for unkind comments about Lt. Worf." Picard sat sipping his Beaujolais. He shot a nervous glance towards the adjoining ten-forward lounge, then smiled when he caught Riker doing the same.

"Perhaps not Captain, but the Commander's right. We could sip water in the cave but we weren't allowed to eat for 4 days!" Miles wiped his brow at the memory. "Jadzia though, she had a blowout party!"

"What do you mean a blowout party?" Data inquired calculating the alcholic content of the two drinks the Chief had already consumed.

"She had male dancers, music, food, Kieko said it was a lot of fun." Miles continued, warming up now that he had a captive audience. "The highlight came when Dax punched out the matriarch of the Worf's family and she cancelled the wedding! Worf and Dax then had a fight and everyone thought the wedding might be off. But they worked everything out in the end."

"She punched out the Klingon matriarch?" Riker leaned forward and whispered, "So tell us about this Jadzia that Worf married. Quite a beauty I understand."

O'Brien nodded his assent. "A trill. She stands up to him, I'll tell you that. Dax doesn't take any grief from Worf. She gives just as good as she gets." Will smiled. Just the kind of woman Worf needed. One who would be a challenge to handle. The more trouble she gave him, the happier he would be. "I have a vidpic if you'd like to see." O'Brien offered.

"Sure!" said Data, already straining to see around Geordi and Riker. Will was studying the beauty trying to read something about the person from the picture when he felt two hands on his shoulder. Smiling again, he turned, his expression asking his question for him. The older Betazoid woman who stood before him grinned and in his head he heard, "It's time, William. I summon you to the place of marriage."

"Well, Gentleman, we are about to start." Will said standing up and beginning to take his uniform coat off. I'm really sorry I wasn't able to offer the bachelor party that Worf arranged."

"That's all right Commander." Data said. "I think I speak for everyone present when I say we would much rather see you and your bride in the nude than Worf any day!"
