The software titles below represent the most widely used applications at the school. They are listed (somewhat) in order of the extent to which they are used. To see examples of kids projects click on the highlihted title name in the left column.To visit the companys site or other information use the right column.
By far the most widely used program at the school. We introduce HyperStudio at first grade and engage kids in increasingly sophisticated HyperStudio projects through 6th grade. |

ClarisWorks - (now Appleworks, again) |
ClarisWorks - our basic word processing program, but we also use the draw and paint components for a variety of projects. |
MicroWorlds Project Builder |
Used most extensively at 3rd grade. Increasingly we are using the version integrated into the Investigations Math curriculum. In addition we are using MicroWorlds for programming projects at the upper grades. |
Logical Journey of the Zoombinis |

My Make Believe Castle |
A program designed to introduce the youngest of computer users to programming. A castle scene provides the context for users to introduce characters and program there actions. Also includes a number of fun puzzles and games. Made by the creators of Microworlds, LCSI. |
KidPix |
The classic kids painting program - we use the program primarily for the production of slide shows to illustrate change over time, for example the life cycle of a butterfly. |
SimCity 2000 |
SimCity 2000 allows your students to assume the role of major for their very own city. The program is highly motivating and engages children in dealing with complex problems such as taxation, pollution, urban development and the interrelationship of such factors in an interesting fashion. |
Hollywood |
Hollywood allows you to script and direct your own productions. Provides a creative context for writing, with an emphasis on storyline, character and dialogue development. |
The Incredible Machine |
Another all time favorite, this program presents children with a series of increasingly complicated puzzles to solve. In addition you are able to create and program the solution of your own machine for others to solve. |

A series of logic & problem solving activities that users participate in in their quest to reconstruct the Dr. Brain's brain |
A programming tool that is most often used to create adventure style games. Uses the concept of programming by demonstration, i.e., make characters and then teach them what to do in different situations.
