It's Michelle!!!

For all of Michelle's beauty, she is (sadly) lacking in a few minor details. For starters, her factory speakers are marginal, at best. She has no clock (problem fixed with MY2001), which doesn't seem like such a problem...until you want to know what time some speed-Nazi officer pulled you over. To be considered street-legal, Honda applied gaudy earrings and Tami Faye-Baker makeup in certain places...which, luckily, can be either removed or covered up.

In my never-ending quest to spruce her up, I've surfed the net, read numerous magazines, and hit people up for insider information on the S2000 family tree. This page will document my trials and tribulations, and hopefully help others who come after me to further the spectacular breed known as S2000. I will post pictures as I get them developed, so if you only see my writings, don't feel bummed...visual enhancement is on the way. And please, if you find any of this information useful or have suggestions/criticisms (like "your page sucks...oh yeah, and you mispelled something", or "Thanks for the info, I couldn't live without it, you're a GOD!"), I would love to hear from you. Check for my contact information on my main page.

I will always have several requirements going into a project (as much as I try, I may not be able to adhere to each one):

  1. No cutting/drilling of metal. Doing so heightens the chances of corrosion. And should you forget the "measure twice, cut once" rule, you'll either be shopping for another cigarette lighter (for inside) or a larger license (for outside) plate to cover the hole.
  2. If there is no marked improvement in appearance, leave it looking like stock.
  3. If at all possible, allow the ability to return to stock components.
  4. Get the most bang for your buck!

Please read the entire mod before attempting it yourself. I would hate to hear a horror story of someone drilling a hole in the wrong spot because they thought "I don't need no stinkin' directions!" I also suggest printing this page out to have with you as you do the actual mods. A color printer is also highly recommended as the visual side of my explanations will be done with colored symbols on color photographs. As a side not: I'm not responsible for any mistakes you make...you drill it, you fill it! The following instructions are meant as a guide, not as a bible. I believe everything my fingers type is correct to the best of my recollection, but I do NOT guarantee measurements (although they should be pretty damn close) nor do I claim authenticity of any pictures containing Bill Clinton.

I'm starting modifications on Michelle before she's even 3 months old...so check out the following links to see what I've been up to.

Cosmetic - These are modifications to Michelle which, in my opinion, enhance Michelle's interior or exterior looks. These include, but are not limited to, OE/aftermarket parts, decals, paint jobs, and other various accessories.
Audio - Pretty self-explanatory, really...anything having to do with upgrading Michelle's auditory capability, from subwoofers to tweeters, and from head units to amplifiers.
Performance - These modifications will deal with everything from increased engine output to upgraded handling and performance characteristics.

Just a few pictures of my ride. I'm putting them here so that I'll have a record book as I make modifications to her...

Ain't she a beaut?! My little girl!

I'm not sure who has a bigger smile up on their grill, me or my little girl ;)

How many horses?! NOW how many horses?!

The pic on the left is of Michelle's original 240HP NA inline-4. The pic on the right (many thanks to S2000 Owner for the snapshot) shows my baby after her transplant. I figured if I could get 240HP out of 1 block, why not mesh 2 together to get 480HP! Well, things don't always work out as planned, and I'm actually cranking out closer to 450HP (losses due to gear mesh, tranny reinforcement, etc.) It also required replacing the airbox (soon to be replaced with a high-flow cold-air intake, and the entire exhaust system had to be custom cut. Total cost? You don't want to know! Now if I can squeeze a twin supercharger in there I should be able to get another 200HP out of the ol' girl (but that'll require replacing the already-pushed-to-the-limit drivetrain and a VERY strong clutch assembly). Ferrari's, prepare to be SPANKED!

I've been told I have an unnatural obsession with Michelle, but wouldn't you want to protect your daughter in today's world too?

Everyone in front of their stooks!

Here's a picture (HIGHLY edited...to remove buildings and such) from a recent ride (10/21) through central Mass. We stopped at several places, but this was a pretty cool shot, even if it was from a distance.
