ROCKETS 2003 INFORMATION PACKET

 

WHAT WE DELIVER:

            Experienced dedicated coaches.

            Proven fundamental skill improvement techniques.

Small rosters (13 player maximum)

Guaranteed playing time.

Exposure opportunities for college bound student athletes.

Competitive opportunities at the local, regional, and national levels.

Weekly indoor practices ( Danbury , CT ) Jan.5 through March 23.

Weekly outdoor practices & scrimmages beginning April 6th.

An improved athlete.

 

2003 will be the Rockets 9th tournament season. The Rockets are a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the individual athletes level of play while stressing the importance of “teamwork” and team goals. All moneys, fees and donations collected go to the cost of running our program. This includes uniforms, team equipment, insurance, entry and association fees, travel expenses, administrative costs, etc. 

 

WHAT’S THE COMMITMENT / EXPECTATION?

Commitment.......picture a bacon and egg breakfast....the chicken participated but the pig was committed.

 

From the athlete we expect:

     . 100% attendance at all scheduled practices, games, meetings and events.

     . Good sportsmanship all the time.

     . Team spirit and the acceptance of team goals & objectives.

     . Respect for her teammates and coaches.

     . A positive / willing to learn attitude and demeanor.

     . Openness to new and different techniques and concepts.

     . Willingness to play any position requested.

   

From the parents we expect:

     . Basically the same.                       

Beyond the list above YOU are in the best position to prime and influence your daughters positive attitude and demeanor. But please be aware that YOU are also in the best position to poison it.

   

WHAT KIND OF TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE CAN WE EXPECT?

 18U: Ten tournaments.  Two fall, eight summer beginning June 7th, including CO Fireworks and AFA Nationals, (6 travel, 4 local)

          Seasons ends August 3rd.

 16U:  Nine tournaments. Two fall, seven summer beginning June 7th.

           Season ends July 27th (4 travel, 5 local).

  14U: Eight tournaments: Two in May, three in June, and three in July. (4 travel & 4 local)

          * July 20 - 27:  PONY Nationals in Sterling , Virginia (must qualify.) 

          Season ends July 27th.

 12U:  Nine tournaments: One fall, two in May, three in June, three in July (five local & four travel).

           * July 20 - 27:  PONY Nationals in Sterling , Virginia (must qualify) 

           Season ends July 27th.

10U:  Nine tournaments: One fall, two or three in May, two or three in June, two or three in July (four local & five travel).

 

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE REGULAR SEASON FEE?

What’s included: Uniforms (including coaches shirts), indoor and outdoor practices, team equipment, tournament entry fees, association dues, team insurance (secondary insurance w/ a deductible), coaches travel lodging, administrative costs, etc.

 

Please note: For travel tournaments 18U athletes room together and this cost is included in the regular season fee. 16U, 14U, 12U and 10U athletes room with their parents. This cost is NOT included in the regular season fee.
