7. John Wesley² Whitten (Joab¹) (#488) was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia 1861. John died 1919.

He married Rebecca Belle Smoot. (Rebecca Belle Smoot is #639.) Rebecca was born August 08, 1873. Rebecca died December 12, 1943 at 70 years of age.

John Wesley Whitten and Rebecca Belle Smoot had the following children:

40 i. Clarence³ Whitten (#640).

41 ii. Grover Cleveland Whitten (#641).

42 iii. Mary Whitten (#642).

43 iv. Thelma Whitten (#649). Thelma died March 1962. She married Mr. Kondiles. (Mr. Kondiles is #691.)

44 v. Kinckle D. Whitten (#644) was born March 12, 1896. Kinckle died December 28, 1968 at 72 years of age.

45 vi. Lillie C. Whitten (#645) was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia February 12, 1899. She married Lewis C. Moorman. (Lewis C. Moorman is #650.) (See Lewis C. Moorman for the continuation of this line.)

46 vii. Henry W. Whitten (#643) was born December 16, 1901. Henry died December 19, 1952 at 51 years of age.

47 viii. Joseph Tinsley Whitten (#646) was born December 16, 1904. Joseph died July 23, 1975 at 70 years of age.

+ 48 ix. Chester Jordan Whitten was born February 04, 1906.

49 x. Vera Kate Whitten (#648) was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia November 12, 1907. She married Ernest Yale Burch November 29, 1929. (Ernest Yale Burch is #668.) Ernest was born October 04, 1908. Ernest is the son of Ernest Yale Burch and Lucy Pendleton Burch. (See Ernest Yale Burch for the continuation of this line.)
