6. Joseph Tinsley² Whitten (Joab¹) (#486) was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia May 13, 1860. Joseph died September 24, 1948 at 88 years of age. His body was interred in Stonewall, Virginia.

He married Elizabeth Hamilton Wright in Forks of Buffalo, Virginia, November 03, 1880. (Elizabeth Hamilton Wright is #610.) Elizabeth was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia October 13, 1863. Elizabeth died August 19, 1939 in Stonewall, Virginia, at 75 years of age. Her body was interred in Stonewall, Virginia.

Joseph Tinsley Whitten and Elizabeth Hamilton Wright had the following children:

33 iii. Irene Viola Whitten (#613) was born March 09, 1888. Irene died September 19, 1945 at 57 years of age. She married twice. She married Clyde Shaner. (Clyde Shaner is #631.) 34 iv. Joe Henry Whitten (#614) was born February 11, 1891. He married Mattie Leake. (Mattie Leake is #632.)

35 v. Forrest D. Whitten (#615) was born April 22, 1894. He married Eula Tarrett. (Eula Tarrett is #633.)

37 vii. Laura Jane Whitten (#617) was born November 03, 1900. She married R.D. Daniel. (R.D. Daniel is #637.)

39 ix. Willie K. Whitten (#619) was born August 28, 1907. He married Louise Graham. (Louise Graham is #638.)
