Methods This course will consist primarily of hands-on experience, regular demonstrations,
in-class assignments and homework.
 
Materials

You will need at least 2 Zip disks. You will be responsible for backing up all your files. Lost or corrupt files are not acceptable excuses for unfinished assignments. Required text: Elements of Web Design, 2nd Edition, Darcy DiNucci; (Peachpit Press).

   
Evaluation
Evaluation will be based on your participation, ability to grasp key concepts, demonstration of skills through successful completion of all assignments and overall quality of effort and work. Homework assignments and the final project will be evaluated for both technical and design abilities. Students are expected to participate in class discussions and class critiques. Points will be deducted from your final grade for failure to actively participate.
   
Grading

Grading will be based on 36 points for attendance and class participation, 32 points for homework assignments; and 32 points for the final project. Projects must be completed according to the assignment and turned in on time.

   

Late work

For each class that an assignment or project is late, 5 points will be deducted from the grade of that assignment or project.

   

Tardiness/
Absenteeism

For each class missed, 3 points will be subtracted from your final grade. Each time you arrive to class late or leave early, 1-3 points will be subtracted from your final grade based on the degree of lateness or missed time in class.

   
Preparedness

Students are required to bring the proper materials to class (ex. zip disk) leaving a class to get materials is not acceptable and points will be deducted for time spent out of class. Students should back up all work onto multiple disks!
