Hi! This is Maeryk's place on the web!

One of my great passions right now is Steam power, and early electric. This picture is the locomotive that started it all for me. The mighty Reading T-1 ! I first saw this type of locomotive running as the Freedom Train in 1976, when it came into the Bethlehem Roundhouse (pa) at the end of the east coast run. IT went in as the Freedom Train *1* engine, and came out as the Chessie Steam Special. We saw it both at the roundhouse in Bethlehem, and once again in Quakertown PA for a whistlestop and brief picture pose. That engine, unfortunately, burned in the B&O shops in the mid-eighties, but has been cosmetically restored as the Freedom Train Engine. The one pictured below, 2102, is a sister engine that lives fairly close to me, and has kept me interested in trains for a number of years.. (waiting for it to come out of hiding and play!) if you want more info, click HERE Enjoy!
