8/29: Picked up the new Dance Hall Crashers CD, "Purr". First impression is that it doesn't live up to their previous efforts. 8/27: Wrapped up the Maine trip by playing 18 at Augusta Country Club. 8/20: Spent a restful week with my family at a camp on Lake Cobbosseecontee in Maine, mostly canoeing and sunbathing. Photos. 8/17: Orny leads the pack again! Just as the DargonZine Glossary migrated to MySQL, O'Reilly publishes a nutshell book on MySQL and its lame cousin, mSQL. 8/14: Sent out DargonZine 12-8, featuring the continuation of the "Talisman" series and a great new story from Brandon Haught, and announcing the port of the Online Glossary to MySQL. 8/9: Picked up Negativland and Chumbawamba's typically amusing new EP, "the ABCs of Anarchism" along with a couple other CDs. 8/9: Caught Chris & Meredith Thompson at an open mic night at Club Passim. 8/6: Movie night at BG Beth's BG Bachelorette Pad. 8/5: Ska show at the Middle East, featuring Beat Soup and the Skatalites. 7/31: The highlight of a weekend in Maine was seeing "the Lion in Winter" at the Theater at Monmouth. 7/30: Sapient's annual summer outing was held at fabulous Crane's Beach! 7/29: Resurrected SnackLand from a hard disk crash. 7/23: Enjoyed a team dinner with one of my old teams at work. |

7/24: DargonZine 12-7 was distributed, featuring the first part of a new "Talisman" series, a prelude from Mark Murray, and the debut of another new Dargon writer, Bryan Read! 7/12: Orny's employer, Sapient, reported quarterly revenues of $64m and EPS of 25¢! 7/19: Saw "the Red Violin with Inna & Beth". 7/18: Enjoyed a weekend with Inna, featuring a trip to Gloucester's Stage Fort Park. Photos. 7/16: Finally broke down and bought A/C for the apartment. Also started looking for extraterrestrial intelligence by running SETI@Home. 7/15: What a day! Bonus payouts, took a major digger on my bike, and Orny's annual haircut day. Just a little off the ends... say, about twelve inches? 7/14: What better way to celebrate Bastille Day than going down to the riverside for a free performance by the French Symphony of Boston? 7/13: Avoided the All-Star Game at Fenway by attending an interesting meeting. Sorree, I can't tell you about it, but it was significant! 7/12: Wondering why it's been so quiet? It's because Orny cleared his schedule and took vacation just to do some writing! Preliminary results are one completed story, and a second partially done! 7/4: Saw Boston's Fourth of July fireworks from one of the best vantage points in the city: Sapient's Cambridge office! Photos! 7/1: Went out to dinner with Inna and her coworkers. |
