12/25: Highlight of the holiday trip to Maine was a 15-inch snowfall Christmas night.

12/21: Celebrated the winter solstice in traditional fashion with an evening walk around Castle Island with Inna.

12/19: Saw The Two TowersThe Two Towers, the second episode of Tolkien's trilogy, with Jer, Mizago, BQM, & Kristann. Pretty good, but some surprisingly substantial differences from the book. Read comments.

12/18: Watched the expanded Fellowship of the Rings DVD at Jer & Sha's with friends in preparation for the new movie.

12/17: Raucous yet tedious, amusing yet annoying condo association meeting.

12/14: Inna and I went to Harpers Ferry to see Adonai & IAdonai & I. Half the players come from JBB, and the other half from Pressure Cooker, and they play reggae interpretations of Hebrew prayers and melodies. Then we crossed the street to the Common Ground, and saw the PC chefs cook up the second half of a night of double duty!

12/13: SheeriHad a great brainstorming session with Sheeri about a new, disturbing story idea.

12/12: SlackersTook Inna out to see three ska bands for the first time: Boston's Westbound Train and Mass Hysteria, and NYC's the Slackers.

12/12: Is the media really starting to clue in? First, the Boston Phoenix prints this interesting response to the ridiculous Boston PhoenixS&M weapons inspector brouhaha, asserting that we don't need a right to privacy, but safety when we choose to be public about our sexuality. Then Bay Windows, Boston's gay paper prints this editorial taking a very strong, supportive stance on bisexuality.

12/11: Lance ArmstrongAfter dominating four Tours de France, Lance Armstrong finally was awarded Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year!

12/6: Des Van DamnedWent back to 1992 by taking Jeanie out to see the infamous Bentmen's "Ulcer Gulch" show at the ICA. Read the Phoenix article. See photos.

The Two Towers12/2: In expectation, I had to re-read Tolkien's "The Two Towers".

11/26: My bursitis having slowly receded, I got back in the saddle for the first time in two months and did a short 15-mile ride that felt really good.

11/18: Finished the weekend of doom with a day full of social connections, including a Margotfabulous conversation with MB at the Burren, a good connection with NR via AIM, and making an appearance in RG's dreams! Ha! Now it's time for me to get some sleep!

11/17: After an online chat with the DargonZine writers, I went Inna's solo!to see Inna sing with the Mystic Chorale, and I was very proud of her beautiful solo performance of Naomi Shemer's Lu Y'Hi! Thrill Kill KultTopped the evening off by going to the Middle East to see industrial / goth / dance pioneers My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult.

11/16: After attending a BRC brunch at Johnny D's, Nicolecelebrated Darling Nikki's birthday with an Afghani dinner at Helmand. Then topped the evening off with the most incredible lineup of ska originators ever assembled -- including the one and only Prince Buster Wants YOU!Prince Buster, Derrick Morgan, Patsy Todd, Monty Morris, and Lloyd Knibb -- all backed up by their local legacy: the Pressure Cooker, plus Robin from Beat Soup! An amazing, amazing show...

11/15: Nigel KnuckleheadLet the weekend of doom begin! Caught local ska band the Allstonians at the Common Ground in Allston.

Green Island11/10: Went to Rhythm & Spice for the first time for a CD release show by local ska band Green Island.

11/10: Went and checked out theInna in Mapparium Mapparium at the Christian Science Center with Inna, while the PMC was presenting a $15m and a $2.5m check to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (press release).

Margot11/09: Saw a bunch of friends at Margot's housewarming party.

The Power That Preserves11/08: Finished reading "The Power That Preserves", the last book in Donaldson's first Covenant trilogy.

11/07: Went to Yee-Haw Posterthe BPL to hear a Letterpress Guild of New England presentation by printing folk from Yee-Haw Industries.

11/02: Weekend trip to Maine.

10/30: Met some folks at the bar downstairs at the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay's YFN gathering.

10/19: Finished my foliage trip with SantarellaInna by visiting Santarella (artist's gingerbread house), Tanglewood (summer home of the BSO), Mt. Greylock (highest Mass MoCApoint in Mass.), and the huge MassMoca galleries. Also bought my first bottle of scotch: a Cragganmore 12.

Purgatory Chasm10/18: Began a two-day foliage trip with Inna by visiting Purgatory Chasm (granite fells, OSVone of my favorite places in Mass.), Old Sturbridge Village (recreated East Heavencolonial village), and then Indian food and hot tubbing in Northampton at East Heaven Hot Tubs.

10/17: Polyamory Ellecontinues to get broader media exposure, as seen in this License photoElle article. Also finally got my drivers license renewed, complete with new picture.

10/16: Finished Lord Foul's Banereading "Lord Foul's Bane", the first book of Stephen R. Donaldon's "Thomas Covenant" series.

10/10: Two Cyclometeryears after buying my current bike, I've put 5500 miles on it; 2100 in the past year!

10/5: Flew to Detroit for a very special weekend Friendson the shores of Lake Huron with four very close friends who touched, moved, and inspired me.

10/4: Attended a special performance Snappy Danceby Snappy Dance Theater that included the world premiere of a piece dedicated to and inspired by the Pan-Mass Challenge.

10/3: Went to the House of Blues Joseph Hillwith my buddy Atticus to see the amazing Joseph Hill and Culture.
