Cozy Bendesky is a textile artist who lives in Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania. In her preteens, surrounded by the fiber art explosion of the 1970's, she devoured the Foxfire Books and decided that many needle crafts would not survive her generation if she was not able to teach them to children when she was grown.
She has been quilting, handsewing and learning traditional needlecrafts ever since (although she's glad to report that she will not be doing it alone in the next century). She learned to knit in England, has made lace in Germany, and has viewed some of the finest and oldest textile collections in the world in France, Switzerland and the US. She has focused her attention on modern construction and the Art Quilt since 1987.

truly believe that as our work and home lives become more mechanized, computerized and automatic, we will value the things we touch and feel ever more highly. Soft blankets, luxury writing paper, furniture designed for comfort rather than show incorporating several textures in one piece all have become important. Touchable, wearable and comforting, fibers and textiles draw the viewer to become involved, to touch and to speculate: "how does that feel?" "what would it be like to be wrapped up inside of it?"
