monchie is fascinated by the media - all media. many years ago, he used to play records on radio programs, then go home and read himself to sleep each night. now he listens to the radio or audio cd's as he multitasks on the net before reading himself to sleep each night. some things never change.

just about the only medium he doesn't find all that fascinating is television. although he has no qualms about going out and buying software or music cd's, he has a 10 year old sharp 19-inch set that he's in no hurry to replace. if it weren't for cable channels like cnn and comedy central and the sci-fi network and c-span, he probably wouldn't watch much tv at all.

monchie isn't an elitist who thinks tv is beneath him. in fact, he a fan of many old tv shows, as well as today's "politically incorrect" and "nypd blue." and he gets some chuckles from "the simpsons" and "married with children." he just doesn't find most tv all that interesting -- or movies, for that matter.
