monchie grew up in delaware county, pennsylvania, about eight miles from philadelphia. he attended st. joseph’s grade school in collingdale, monsignor bonner high school in drexel hill, and temple university in philadelphia, where he received a bachelor’s degree in radio-tv-film from their school of communications and theatre. while there, he was the music director of temple's all-jazz radio station, wrti; later on, he did various types of music programs, as well as a politically oriented call-in talk show, at the university of pennsylvania's station, wxpn.
since then, monchie has worked in public relations and publishing as part of the liberal media conspiracy™ . he currently lives in new york city with his cat, pee-wee, and is the editor of a national consumer magazine. (no, he will not tell you which one.)
