2/18: Finished reading the biased and judgemental "Philosophy for Dummies"; mostly it just confirmed my own philosophy. 2/16: Great day! Began the day with my first class in Adobe Illustrator at NESAD. Then got a call from the vet who said Pug's tests had all come back negative. Then signed up and wrote my first entries on LiveJournal. Finally, had an awesome time at Drum & Dance! 2/15: Celebrated how old Jer is getting by visiting the Coolidge Corner Theatre for a midnight showing of the Don & Bill Show. 2/14: Killed Valentines Day at Harpers Ferry, seeing Pressure Cooker. 2/12: Led a residents' committee meeting to brainstorm about a Vendome Web site. 2/10: Read "Cats: How to Draw Them". They tell me cats *sell*! 2/8: Saw Beat Soup at the Common Ground. The opener, Westbound Train, had to compete with one TV showing a replay of the Patriots' Super Bowl victory, and another showing the Olympics' opening ceremonies! Right after the show, I drove up to Maine for a visit, getting in at 5:45am! 2/8: Re-read Albert Camus' "The Stranger", this time in English! Still owe M. Ayotte a debt of gratitude for introducing us to Existentialism in high school French class! 2/7: Received my new bike bag, which I designed myself at the Timbuk2 site! 2/5: Read "A Traveller's History of Scotland" in preparation for the 2002 Dargon Summit! 2/2: Saw Manze & Egarr play early violin sonatas in a BEMF concert at a church while Drum & Dance took place simultaneously in the basement! 1/27: Rode within a couple feet of a Cooper's Hawk on a 24-mile bike ride in a 60-degree January thaw. 1/26: Inna and I broke up; I know it's an old refrain, but this time it should stick. 1/25: Finished reading Terry Pratchett's Discworld novel "The Truth". |

1/23: Went to the FleetCenter to see the Celtics squeeze a 4-point win out of future hall of famer Reggie Miller and the Indiana Pacers! 1/22: My first condo association annual meeting. 1/20: Saw the first of the Lord of the Rings trilogy of movies with Jeanie. Overall, pretty good, but as a longtime fan, I of course have more opinions than that! 1/17: My 18 month-old Sony laptop died a horrible death. Now I have to salvage what I can from it. 1/14: Dinner with former SO Angel at the Cheesecake Factory. 1/14: Registered for the 2002 Pan-Mass Challenge. This year I'll be doing 30 more miles and covering much more hilly terrain in raising money for cancer research. 1/13: Read "Conversations with God", a book with a very creative premise, and a few really useful nuggets of philosophy buried amidst quite a pile of repetition and common thought. Want to know what I got out of it? 1/12: An inspiring recital on vihuela by Paul O'Dette as part of the Boston Early Music Festival. 1/11: These eyes they follow after you... Caught righteous lineup of Bim Skala Bim and Pressure Cooker at the Middle East! 1/9: Finished reading "The Complete Book of Long-Distance Cycling". Highly recommended! 1/8: It was only a couple inches, but it was enough to qualify as the first snow biking event of the season! 1/6: Made my first batch of ice cream (vanilla, of course) in my new ice cream maker! 1/5: Finally ordered a couch and chair. Too bad it won't arrive for more than three months! 1/1: Fun dinner with Inna and friends at Diva Indian Bistro and the Diesel Cafe. 1/1: Finished reading Anne Rice's vampire trilogy. Impression: imaginative, but not the best writing I've seen. |
