Ama Dablam Lakes

Ama Dablam lakes

Ama Dablam Lakes (4,650m/15,255ft): on our acclimatisation day at Periche, we climbed up Nagartsang Peak (5,083m/16,676ft) to the north.  It was our first day over 5,000m, a key milestone on the trek.  Near the peak, we climbed over a ridge and amazingly, Ama Dablam appeared to the east!  The Ama Dablam lakes below the mountain draw their water from the runoff from Ama Dablam's north west face through the Duwo glacier.
