Universal Health Care
The Labor Party's "Just Health Care" ballot question reads:
"Shall the Representative/Senator from this District support legislation to create a single-payer system of
universal health care that provides all Massachusetts residents with comprehensive health care
coverage (including the freedom to choose doctors and other health care professionals, facilities, and services) and
eliminates the role of insurance companies in health care by creating an insurance trust fund that is publicly administered?
(This public trust fund, similar to the Social Security Fund on a federal level, would receive the funds presently going to the
numerous health insurance companies throughout the state.)"
Our position has won big in each District where we have campaigned. This year we need to up the ante by adding more Districts,
listed below.

- 2nd Suffolk (Chelsea-Boston)-Lyn Meza 781-598-2760
- Hampshire-Franklin Senate District-
- Tim Scott 413-586-3123
- David Cohen 413-773-9519
- Judy Atkins 413-773-9519
A strong "yes" vote on a clear single-payer question is particularly important this year since there will be a binding statewide
referendum calling for "reform" of the health care system. We say the only reform worth fighting for is a single-payer system.
But it's up to us to put our votes where our mouths are.
