Queen Victorias youngest daughter, Princess Beatrice, reveals
her feelings after the death of her husband, Prince Henry of Battenberg.
Christmas could not fail to be very trying
the
terrible blank my beloved husband has left in the home circle seems

very long
I must bear with patience the heavy crop God has
seen fit to lay on me
very sincerely, Beatrice. The letter
is framed with a cabinet photograph (minor spotting) of Beatrice and
Henry and with a mourning card. Gold frame (13" x 17") and

PRINCE CHARLES,
JULY 6, 1982.
Two page typed and handwritten letter on Buckingham Palace stationary,
to his royal naval commander shortly after the birth of Prince William.
This letter is unusual because the Prince writes both about Prince
William and about the Falklands. The Prince addresses it Dear
David, and signs Yours ever, Charles in his own
hand. The typed portion includes: the reaction to the news (of
Prince Williams birth) has been overwhelming and thoroughly
heart-warming and we are rapidly discovering what is to be proud parents
Prince Charles adds a Postscript in his own hand, P.S. Many
thanks for your excellent notes on the Falkland points. I am now turning
my attention to the South Atlantic fund, as patron. I am frightened
that the whole thing may go in the wrong direction if I dont
take a serious interest now ... Give my love to Irene. C. $900.00 |
