Elementary FLEX
Starting in
Kindergarten, students have the opportunity to explore learning about the
Spanish language and culture. Primary skills emphasized are listening and speaking.
Activities are designed to help students feel a high degree of success
while producing low stress. Students participate actively and have
fun while learning the language. Kindergarten
students receive instruction for 15 minutes once every six days, with the length
of instruction increasing to 30 minutes for 5th graders. Specific outcomes
and assessments are identified in the curriculum area of the school district's
website. Much of the vocabulary for the FLEX program revolves around
themes. FLEX thematic vocabulary.
